Bridge to Gnosis without exchange support is possible when an exchange lets a user withdraw only to Ethereum but does not offer Gnosis Chain as a withdrawal network. The user withdraws to a self-custody EVM wallet first, then uses a native bridge or a multi-chain route; the choice depends on token representation, gas, limits, and destination compatibility.
The constraint
This applies to users whose exchange supports the asset but not Gnosis Chain withdrawals. Sending directly to a Gnosis address is not an option: the exchange will either reject the network selection or leave the user unable to choose it.
The workaround is to add one intermediate step. Withdraw the asset to your own Ethereum-compatible wallet on Ethereum, keep enough ETH there for approval and bridge transactions, and bridge from the wallet rather than from the exchange.
Routes that still work
- Use Gnosis Bridge. For Ethereum-held GNO, USDC, WETH, or eligible stablecoins, gnosis bridge provides an Ethereum-to-Gnosis route. Select the exact source token, connect the wallet, check the received asset and fee, then approve and submit the transfer.

I review the receiving contract, not just the ticker. “USDC” on Gnosis can describe separate versions based on its source. A DeFi application may support only one of them, so match the token contract shown by the bridge with the asset accepted by the receiving app.
Finally, transfer a tiny test amount when the destination is unfamiliar. Make sure that the wallet is on Gnosis Chain, leave xDAI set aside for gas, and never bridge a token merely because its name appears familiar.
